CIFF Gears Up for a Drama-Filled Five-Day Event

Festival represents films from more countries around the world than ever before.

(Charleston, SC – October 13, 2016) Now its ninth year, Charleston International Film Festival (Charleston IFF) Presented by Charliewood Pictures LLC an annual five-day celebration of film, will take place November 2 through November 6 at Charleston Music Hall in historic downtown Charleston. In addition to nightly after parties with live music, live Q&A sessions with industry experts, free educational workshops, and an Awards Gala, the Festival will showcase 63 films from the United States and around the world, including Australia, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Greece, Scotland, Russian Federation, Pakistan, Austria, and Argentina.

Summer Peacher, Charleston IFF Co-Founder and President said, “Even as the challenge of making film selections intensifies each year, we work hard to choose the most striking, unique, and thought-provoking films to share during our Festival. We hope our attendees are as impressed with this year’s selections as we are.”

In addition to showcasing films from around the world, the Festival is also proud to screen Warrior ac a feature independent film shot and crewed in Charleston in partnership with Charliewood Pictures. Written and directed by independent filmmaker and Charlestonian Brad Jayne, the story follows three teenage boys who rob a South Carolina juke joint before fleeing up the coast to Myrtle Beach.

“We are thrilled to be able to have the Charleston premiere of our film Warrior Road as part of the Charleston International Film Festival,” stated Denis Gallagher, Founder and Chairman of Charliewood Pictures and Executive Producer of the film. “We are excited to screen our film locally and showcase the amazing filmmaking talent here in Charleston and South Carolina as well as the incredible locations where we filmed.”

Warrior Road will kick off the 2016 Festival as the Red Carpet Special Screening on opening night at 7:30 p.m. at Charleston Music Hall. Opening night tickets are available for purchase for $25.00.

The full Festival schedule and tickets are available online at CharlestonIFF.com. Price per screening block is $10.00. Festival passes are also available for $79.00 and good for access to all screenings, panels, and parties (excluding the awards gala).
